WELCOME TO BEADSELLERMaking Friends, One Bead At A Time "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." ~Aesop FREE JEWELRY MAKING LESSONS This fun four leaf clover can be used in many ways to create some ornate jewelry. Though it does not require soldering, you could solder the ends of the clover closed if you prefer. You will need the following:
Approx. 4 inches of your choice of wire wire cutters round nosed pliers jeweler’s files To make one clover, you need to cut approx. 4 inches of wire. You can use silver, gold-filled, or this would also be fun with the new colored wire that is available. Green, of course, would be a good choice. 18 gage is a good size, though I’ve also used 24 gage. If the ends of the wire will scratch the wearer, file them flat. Next you’ll need to create each leaf of the clover by bending the wire using round nosed pliers. Make one curl as pictured. (Though you can make the clover as small or as large as you’d like, each leaf of this clover is approx. ¼ inch in diameter.) ![]() Now, using round nosed pliers, make another curl next to the first curl. ![]() Then make the third and fourth curls of the clover. If each of the leaves are about ¼ inches, the there will be about ½ inch of wire left over. ![]()
You can use this extra piece to make a smaller curl in the back of the clover and put on an ear hook. ![]() There are a variety of ways this clover can be used. I’ve used them as earrings with just a hook added. I’ve also added head pins and beads that dangle from the clover which make the design look more like a flower. ![]() Use them as links in a necklace or bracelet. There are many possibilities.
